It’s still not stopping! According to the official Twitter account, the “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Train Arc” anime film is very close to being the highest grossing film in Japan of all time. It mobilized 22,539,385 people and earned 30,289,307,700 yen (approximately ~$291 million USD) and is now days away from finally reaching the number 1 spot. The film became the 2nd highest-earning film of all time in Japan a few weeks ago after surpassing Titanic. It’s still behind only Spirited Away (~30.8 Billion Yen). What’s even more amazing is that it has only been 59 days since it released on October 16 of this year, yet the Demon Slayer revenue is already over 30 billion high after 59 days. They also announced new “freebies” to be given to the fans in theaters to help boost the sales a bit. They released the first one on November 14. It was a cool A4 illustration given to a limited number of visitors, and a new one (A5 illustration) was given from November 28th. You can check out both of those:
The third one was a special booklet which was distributed to 750,000 people from December 12. The last one will start 2 weeks later, so December 26. These probably boost the sales a bit! Its numbers are high even on the worldwide gross list despite not airing in most of the world. Here’s the link to the last trailer to watch as we wait for the 2021 international release. The Demon Slayer revenue crossed 30 billion in 59 days, while it took Spirited Away 255 days for the same milestone! It so will probably have more record news soon!
