New Gundam Anime Series to Be Revealed on July 23

Bandai Namco Filmworks has announced that a brand-new Gundam anime series will be officially unveiled during San Diego Comic-Con 2026 at the “GUNDAM Showcase 2026 – Unveil the Next Gundam” panel on July 23.

The panel will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. PT in Room 6BCF, where special guests from Japan will reveal the franchise’s next anime project and discuss what’s ahead for Gundam. While the guests have yet to be announced, Bandai Namco Filmworks confirmed the event will serve as the official reveal for the new series.

For fans unable to attend Comic-Con, GUNDAM CHANNEL INTL will stream a separate special program featuring the same information unveiled during the panel. The company noted that the broadcast will not be a live stream or recording of the SDCC presentation, but a dedicated program covering the announcements.

Alongside the panel, Bandai Namco Filmworks will host a Gundam booth for the upcoming game GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT, which was announced in June, as well as displays related to the newly revealed anime. Attendees will be able participate in free Gunpla building workshops throughout the convention, with completed model kits available to take home while supplies last. Panel attendees will receive exclusive merchandise, including a promotional GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT card, a Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe mini poster, a T-shirt, an inflatable Beam Saber, a Gunpla workshop kit, and additional collectibles.

Gundam is a Japanese mix-media franchise that focuses on mecha robots, created by SUNRISE and Yoshiyuki Tomino. The franchise officially premiered on April 7, 1979, with the Mobile Suit Gundam anime series. It is celebrated its 45th anniversary last year. In addition to the popular anime series and spin-offs, the franchise also has manga, novels, video games, and, of course, the popular toys.

The latest anime projectsfrom the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise were Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX and Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe. The first Hollywood live-action adaptation of the franchise starring Sydney Sweeney and Noah Centineo is also in production at Netflix.
