Dias’ time as a frontier lord is ending. According to Amazon Japan’s preorder listing for The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subject 16 volume, Fuurou’s light novel has entered its last arc. Earth Star Entertainment (via their Earth Star Novel imprint) will release the novel’s 16 volume on September 16.
Readers should note that a novel’s last arc does not equate to its last volume. Several titles have spread their last arc over multiple volumes or released additional content after the main story ended.
The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects Franchise Details
Fuurou released The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects (Ryoumin 0-nin Start no Henkyou Ryoushu-sama) on the user-generated website, Shosetsuka ni Naro, in January 2018. Earth Star Entertainment acquired the web novel in November that year and published it as a light novel under their Earth Star Novel imprint. The light novel includes illustrations by Kinta and currently has 15 volumes. Studio 42 adapted the anime.
Yumbo adapted the light novel into a manga. Comic Earth Star has serialized the manga since December 2028. J-Novel Club released the English versions of the light novel and manga. The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects follows the decorated war veteran Dias.
After a long history of heroic deeds and meritorious service, his king awards Dias with a vast domain. But Dias’ newly acquired land has a spot of bother. It’s nothing but desolate plains. How can he thrive in a place where even trees can’t survive? But when a horned visitor greets him, Dias quickly realizes that his newfound domain is far richer than he imagined.
