Anime Director Teases Vinland Saga Season 2

Vinland Saga is a manga written and illustrated by manga author Makoto Yukimura. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2005. It got an anime adaptation by Wit Studio which ran from July to December 2019, and the director of the first season Shūhei Yabuta has made a post on Twitter which hints towards a possible Vinland Saga season 2. Though it does not give any details, it does seem very likely that it might be coming soon.

After posting the above illustration, he also left a comment that said: “There is a small easter egg too. Please try to find it when you have time (^-^) (Whatever it is, there are no deep meanings…)”.

The easter egg he mentioned was in fact that the runes behind his signature spell “season two” when transliterated into English.

He also left a translation of the rest of the text in a self-reply. It goes:
Thorfinn: “How long must we wait?”
Askeladd: “That’s why I hate kids…”
Canute: “It’s soon…, I guess…”

As someone who watched Vinland Saga and loved the first season, I hope this means the Vinland Saga season 2 is coming soon! In the meanwhile, check out what’s currently trending here.
