As JUJUTSU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death opens in theaters in Japan today, a new character visual of Satoru Gojo has been released, along with a message from his voice actor, Yuichi Nakamura.
Previously, Toji Fushiguro and Suguru Geto got their visuals, while you can see Gojo’s new visual below.
The film, releasing in Japan on May 30, 2025, is a remastered theatrical version of the Hidden Inventory / Premature Death arc, originally shown as the first five episodes of JUJUTSU KAISEN Season 2. It follows young Gojo and Suguru Geto as they take on the mission to protect Riko Amanai, the Star Plasma Vessel. You can read Yuichi Nakamura’s comment below:
“This is a work with so much energy poured into it that it felt like a waste for it to end only as a TV series. Even while it was airing, I kept thinking, ‘It would be great if this could be shown as an event or screened in theaters.’
This isn’t just Hidden Inventory / Premature Death — it’s also a gateway to what’s coming next. I think it will exceed everyone’s expectations. By this point, it could practically be considered a trilogy. (laughs)

The theatrical edition has enhanced visuals and audio mix, as well as a brand-new Juju Stroll, the anime’s gag-like mini-episode. In addition, an acoustic version of “Where Our Blue Is” by Tatsuya Kitani, a melancholic reinterpretation of the Season 2 opening theme, now included in the latest trailer.
Studio MAPPA once again leads the animation production, with the original voice cast returning to reprise their roles.
North American Release and Future Installments
JUJUTSU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death will debut in North American theaters on July 16, 2025, distributed by GKIDS with both English subtitles and dubbing. This will mark GKIDS’ first entry in the JUJUTSU KAISEN franchise, following its acquirement by Toho International.
The next major anime installment, the Culling Game arc, is currently in development, and the sequel will continue from the end of Season 2. A teaser visual was previously revealed, with additional details and format set to be revealed at a later date.
The JUJUTSU KAISEN manga officially concluded in September 2024 after a six-and-a-half-year serialization. The series ended with 30 volumes, the final two of which were published simultaneously in December 2024, with Volume 30 featuring a special epilogue.
