Mizuto and Yume went on a date in episode 4 of My Stepmom’s Daughter Is My Ex. The previous episode ended with Mizuto asking Yume to go out with him, but the previous episode didn’t have much else happening. The episode had shown us some flashbacks from Yume and Mizuto’s perspectives while they were still dating. The flashback helped us understand more of their situation. It was also revealed that Mizuto was the one who broke up with Yume in the past.
While on a date, Yume couldn’t help but blush because Mizuto looked so handsome in her eyes. Not only that but he was also treating her like a boyfriend would do, which is not normal. Though the same goes for Yume’s treatment of Mizuto. Though this treatment didn’t last because Yume snapped at how Mizuto was acting toward her. Thus, their attitude went back to the stepsiblings who always make fun of each other. Still, I think this is better because when they were treating each other romantically, I could see the awkwardness.
The relationship between Yume and Mizuto sure has grown in this episode. Yume even took a picture of Mizuto multiple times. After that, she also said, “So many hotties in my camera roll” while looking at Mizuto’s images. Although it didn’t end there. Yume also asked Mizuto if he can hug her from behind and whisper in her ears. Mizuto did it and said “I caught you”, and Yume replied, “You caught me”.
Seriously, if they are acting like this, they can just go back to being a couple. It is obvious that they still have feelings for each other. Not to mention, they are open to having a romantic date and even acted like a lovey dovey couple at the end of this episode. Well, if you are curious to see whether Mizuto and Yume’s relationship will go further, stay tuned to the anime. Episode 5 will air on August 3. 2022, and you can watch it on Crunchyroll.
