Ami Maeshima announced that she is officially returning to the entertainment industry. She is now signed with the agency VOICE KIT. Her return comes almost a year after she went on hiatus from September 2022 due to health-related issues.
In a statement she posted on her official Twitter account, she expressed her gratitude for her fans’ unwavering support and heartwarming words during her time away. Maeshima added that many people have reached out to her and gave encouragement.
I am truly thankful for your unwavering support and heartwarming words during this period. All of your thoughts and feelings that you have been sending to me for every special occasion have also been duly received.

The official website for the BanG Dream! media franchise announced that Ami Maeshima is reprising her role as Aya Maruyama. This was done after careful consideration and discussions made by the franchise and its production committee. They further added that all unvoiced lines and songs from her will be added in the future as they will be recorded.
When Ami Maeshima announced her hiatus in 2022, she was affiliated with Avex. When she announced that was stepping down from her BanG Dream! the role, she also terminated her contract with Avex. She has been voicing Aya Maruyama since 2017. The character is part of the all-girl band Pastel*Palettes within the franchise.
BanG Dream! is a multimedia project that started in 2015 created by Bushiroad president Takaaki Kidani. The franchise’s first anime premiered in January 2017 with 13 episodes. A sequel aired in January 2019 and a third season debuted the following year.
