Enter the world of gambling and never let anyone deceive you! With breathtaking suspense in every game and unique personalities in every character, this series will surely keep you up all night!
Kakegurui is a manga series written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Tōru Naomura. The first volume of the manga was published way back 22 October 2014 and is still ongoing! Additionally, as of 22 June 2020, thirteen volumes have already been published. The series has two seasons of anime adaptation and one live-action movie.
The first season of Kakegurui anime aired last 1 July to 23 September 2017. The second season, Kakegurui XX aired last 8 January to 26 March 2019. Both seasons of the anime were produced by MAPPA under the direction of Yuichiro Hayashi. And lastly, the live-action movie of the series was released on 3 May 2019 which was directed by Hayato Kawai and distributed by GAGA Pictures.
Kakegurui is set in a high-class university where students are not ranked by their grades but with their outstanding balance in gambling. At this university, when it comes to academics, a student might be the best of the best, but if they’re not that good at gambling, then they’re nothing more than a slave. Therefore, I welcome you to Hyakkaou Academy where all of the best gamblers in this university are all assembled in one student council!

You see, when you’re the sons and daughters of the wealthiest of the wealthy, it’s not athletic prowess or book smarts that keep you ahead. It’s reading your opponent, the art of the deal.
