Blue Lock anime adaptation has been officially announced with a 2022 release date. A teaser PV and a visual, as well as staff and cast information, were also revealed.

Studio 8-Bit (Tensura, Stars Align) is producing the Blue Lock anime, while Tetsuaki Watanabe is directing. Kenji Tanabe and Kento Toya are in charge of character designs. Taku Kishimoto is doing series composition. In addition, Jun Maruyama is composing the music, while Taku Kishimoto is signing off on the script.
Yesterday the Weekly Shounen Jump Magazine teased an upcoming Blue Lock announcement. However, the announcement was scheduled for August 18th.
The cast for the anime has also been revealed. Kazuki Ura is voicing Yoichi Isagi, while Tasuku Kaito is voicing Meguru Bachira. Souma Saitou and Yuuki Ono are also starring in the anime, as Hyouma Chigiri and Rensuke Kunigami respectively.
Blue Lock is based on a manga by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura. The manga started serialization in 2018 and was one of Kodansha’s 45th Manga Awards winners. Kodansha describes the plot as:
After a disastrous defeat at the 2018 World Cup, Japan’s team struggles to regroup. But what’s missing? An absolute Ace Striker, who can guide them to the win.
