Collar x Malice Gets Anime Film Adaptation, Set for 2023 Release

The Collar x Malice visual novel is getting an anime film adaptation, which will be released in 2023. The announcement was made during the recent event held by Otomate on September 4. No announcement on the staff and cast has been made at the moment.

Collar x Malice was developed by Idea Factory, the developed and publisher company that handles Otomate. It was first released in Japan in 2016 exclusively for the PlayStation Vita. It was then released by Aksys Games in 2017 for North America and Europe. It received a Nintendo Switch release in 2020.

Aksys Game lists Collar x Malice with the following synopsis:
A dangerous shadow organization launches a campaign of fear and violence in the city of Shinjuku, pushing society to the brink of chaos. As a young police officer tasked with restoring order, you become the target of an attack, and have a poisonous collar attached to your neck. With the situation spiraling out of control and time running out, five mysterious strangers appear to aid you in your quest for the truth. Who can you trust? Will you be able to save yourself and the soul of Shinjuku from the clutches of oblivion? In a city bound by malice, you are the only hope for salvation!
