Creepy Nuts, the band behind Call of the Night’s theme songs, got the chance to perform “Daten” on The First Take. The song is used as the opening for the abovementioned anime. It’s interesting to note that the series was titled after the band’s “Yofukashi no Uta” song, which is the ending theme for the TV anime. This was the band’s first live performance of the song.
Creepy Nuts is a hip-hop duo consisting of rapper R-Shitei and DJ Matsunaga. R-Shitei’s real name is Kyohei Nogami and he was born in 1991 in Sakai, Osaka Prefecture. The other member, Kunihiko Matsunaga, is from Nagaoka, Niigata Prefecture. He was born in 1990. The duo had their breakthrough after singing under Sony Music’s label in 2017. “Daten” was composed by DJ Matsunaga, while R-Shitei wrote the lyrics. Daisuke Kawaguchi and DJ Matsunaga are credited for the arrangement. Creepy Nuts recently performed another one of their songs, “Nobishiro” on The First Take.

Studio Liden Films is animating the Call of the Night anime that is based on a manga by Kotoyama. Viz Media publishes the English versions and describes the plot:
“One night, sleepless Yamori slips out of his home to walk the streets of his town. Life after dark is a revelation! Especially when he meets flirtatious Nanakusa… She’s a lot more fun to share the night with than old drunks on park benches. When she invites him to spend the night at her place in an abandoned building, he’s stoked! But then he awakens to kisses on his neck with a little too much bite to them…“
