Crunchyroll is adding more titles to its free ad-supported viewing tier. Those who have signed up for a free user account with Crunchyroll can watch all of the titles that are a part of the ad-supported catalog, aimed at making anime more accessible, according to a statement from the company. The new titles will join the already existing list of titles available to watch with ads (Cowboy Bebop, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Horimiya, One Piece, Kaguya-sama: Love is War, My Hero Academia, Tokyo Ghoul and more).
Here is the full list of titles that came to Crunchyroll’s ad-supported catalog on August 1:
Before Sony acquired Crunchyroll (in August 2021), the streaming platform offered premium and free accounts, which came with ads. However, the content was, for the most part, the same. In March 2022, Crunchyroll announced that they would be removing the option of watching weekly simulcasts without premium accounts for most titles.
