Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was chosen as the Best New Anime of 2022 at the 3rd Anime Corner Awards. The anime ranked fifth in the Anime of the Year poll, the highest for a non-sequel anime, with 6.56% of the votes. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners came ahead of Summer Time Rendering, Lycoris Recoil, Spy x Family, and Bocchi the Rock!, among others. Over 82,300 people voted in the poll and Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 managed to win the top spot.
In addition to the Best New Anime, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners also won in the Best Original Anime of 2022 category, where it beat Lycoris Recoil and the Best Sci-fi Anime title. Studio Trigger animated the series, which expanded upon the world of CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 universe. The anime staff included:
CD Projekt Red produced the series with Studio Trigger. Rafał Jaki (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher: Ronin) is the showrunner and executive producer, with Satoru Homma, Bartosz Sztybor, and Saya Elder as producers. There are no plans for a sequel, and Netflix is streaming the anime.

CYBERPUNK: EDGERUNNERS tells a standalone, 10-episode story about a street kid trying to survive in a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an edgerunner—a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.
