Fujino Omori’s Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (Danmachi) light novel released cover visuals for the upcoming 18th volume and the 13th volume of the spin-off Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? On the Side: Sword Oratoria. Danmachi’s 18th volume’s release date is set for January 14, 2023. The volume will have a special edition with a booklet of episodes that haven’t been compiled in the main story. The Sword Oratoria novel will release the 13th volume on February 15, 2023.
The releases are a part of 10 projects to celebrate the series’ 10th anniversary, and the series will have been publishing new books including spin-off novels for 6 months since October 2022:
It was also announced that a new novel titled Prototype will begin serialization on January 15, 2023, and that Great Tale: Argonaut, the scenario of the 2nd-anniversary event in DanMachi – MEMORIA FREESE – game, will be rewritten by the author and published under GA Bunko in 2023. Fujino Omori has been writing the Danmachi light novel with art by Suzuhito Yasuda and the Sword Oratoria spin-off with art by Kiyotaka Haimura. SB Creative has been publishing them under its light novel label GA Bunko since January 2013 and January 2014 respectively. Both of the novels have received TV anime adaptations by studio J.C.STAFF: The first season aired from April to June 2015, the second season from July to September 2019, and the third season from October to December 2020. The fourth season is split into two cours, and the first cour aired from July to October 2022, while the second cour is slated for January 2023. The Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? On the Side: Sword Oratoria anime aired from April to July 2017.
Yen Press licensed both of the series for English releases and currently published all the volumes available. The official website describes the plot of the debut volume as:
In Orario, fearless adventurers band together in search of fame and fortune within the monstrous underground labyrinth known as Dungeon.
But while riches and renown are incentive enough for most, Bell Cranel, would-be hero extraordinaire, has bigger plans.
He wants to pick up girls.
