The previously announced Days with My Step Sister anime adaptation revealed a teaser trailer and staff information on Sunday along with staff information. Studio DEEN is animating the series with Takehiro Ueno as director. Mitsutaka Hirota is writing the scripts and Manabu Nii is designing the characters. The anime is slated to premiere in 2024.
Days With My Step Sister (Gimai Seikatsu) is a mix-media project that initially started on YouTube. The series shared short videos about the characters. The voice actors who were already part of the YouTube project will reprise their roles for the anime: Yuki Nakashima as Saki Ayase, Kohei Amasaki as Yuta Asamura, Minori Suzuki as Shiori Yomiuri, Ayu Suzuki as Maaya Narasaka, Daiki Hamano as Tomokazu Maru.
The light novel version of the series is written by Ghost Mikawa and illustrated by Hiten. It began its publication in January 2021 by Media Factory under their MF Bunko J imprint. A manga adaptation by Yumika Kanade was launched online in Kadokawa Shoten’s Shonen Ace Plus in July 2021. Yen Press is licensing the title in English and they are set to release the first volume this coming October. They describe the series as follows:
After his father remarries, Yuuta suddenly finds himself with a new stepsister: Saki, the greatest beauty at school. Neither of them is sure how to act around the other at first, but the two gradually grow more comfortable living together. Slowly, cautiously, patiently, two strangers become more. So begins an unlikely love story.
