The hype for Demon Slayer: Mugen Train seems to be never-ending. The film has broken all kinds of records since its release – both in its home country and abroad. The film recently broke $40 million at the North American box office. In its latest box office victory, the film surpassed Pokemon: The Movie 2000‘s long-held spot as the second highest-grossing anime film in U.S. box office history.
As of Friday, May 21, the film had made $43,956,487 at the North American box office. This comes as no surprise, as Mugen Train has been dominating the U.S. box office since its North American release on April 23.

Tanjiro and the group have completed their rehabilitation training at the Butterfly Mansion, and they arrive to their next mission on the “Mugen Train”, where over 40 people have disappeared in a very short period of time. Tanjiro and Nezuko, along with Zenitsu and Inosuke, join one of the most powerful swordsmen within the Demon Slayer Corps, Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku, to face the demon aboard the “Mugen Train” on track to despair.
