For the 16 weeks that Demon Slayer: Mugen Train aired, it was in the 1st place for 13 weeks when it came to ticket sales in Japan. In total, the movie sold 26.88 million tickets. What’s more, it earned over 36.8 billion yen (~US$351.4 million) in Japan as of January 31, 2021. However, those numbers weren’t enough and during its 16th-weekend film dropped to 2nd place in terms of tickets sold.
The Demon Slayer: Mugen Train also premiered in South Korea where it ranked at 2nd place in its opening week! During its opening weekend, it made around $US880,000 (984,609,680 won). Throughout the five days (the film premiered in Korea on January 27) it made over US$1.63 million (1,820,102,670 won).

Demon Slayer: Mugen Train is out of control when it comes to getting praises, awards, and ticket sales. Studio ufotable made an extremely good job with adapting the source material and we hope they will keep animating the anime adaptation of Demon Slayer until the end. Unfortunately, as of now, we don’t have any information on another film or TV anime being produced.
