Doraemon: Nobita and Utopia in the Sky (Doraemon: Nobita to Sora no Utopia) anime film has revealed a new trailer and a visual. The movie is set to release in Japanese theaters in March 2023.
This is the 42nd anime feature film from the Doraemon franchise. Takumi Doyama is directing the film, and Ryota Kosawa is doing the scriptwriting. The main cast for the film includes:
The latest Doraemon film takes place in an unnamed place, where Doraemon and his friends fly off on a great adventure across the sky in search of a dreamlike utopia. In addition, they are also in search of the Dragon’s Palace that many adventurers have dreamed of. To travel to said place, the team uses a so-called “Time Zeppelin”, an airship with a time warp function.
“The first Doraemon movie was first released in 1980, the year of my birth. It was an honor just to be involved in such a historic film, but to be asked to direct it out of the blue, I must admit that I was surprised before I felt joy or excitement…Together with Ryota Kosawa, who has written many fascinating screenplays, I would like to create a wonderful film that will make everyone look up at the sky with a happy feeling after watching the film.

Doraemon is a manga series penned by the duo Fujiko F. Fujio, composed of manga artists Hiroshi Fujimoto and Motoo Abiko. It was first serialized in December 1969, then published by Shogakukan from 1970 to 1996. The manga then sprang up multiple anime series, which were released in the years 1973, 1979, and 2005. It also got around forty anime films, all of which are produced by Shin-Ei Animation.
