EUREKA: EUREKA SEVEN HI-EVOLUTION 3, the final movie in the trilogy, is coming to cinemas in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand in 2022, Funimation revealed. The movie opens on 26 November 2021 in Japan.
Eureka Seven is a mecha anime that first aired in 2005. The franchise since spawned multiple anime series, movies, OVAs, and specials. The series also has six manga adaptations, a light novel, and three video games. The story is an original work, produced by BONES and Bandai Entertainment.
Eureka Seven: Hi-Evolution movie series follows the events that happened before the main anime storyline. It explains the origin of the story but will have a different ending. The first movie came out in 2017, while the second one followed in 2018.
The third installment is a direct sequel to the previous movie. Studio BONES is animating it with Tomoki Kyoda as the director.
Funimation describes the plot as:
Eureka has lived alone in atonement for ten years, hated by the world and blamed for the chaos that destroyed everything. In a fateful encounter, she receives an order to protect Iris, a new “Eureka,” who has the ability to produce Scab Corals. It’s a fateful meeting between the former Eureka, who has lost her powers, and Iris, who fears her powers. When Eureka is asked to put her life on the line as a new crisis arises, will Eureka have the strength to protect Iris and the world? What future awaits her at the end of her journey?
