Farewell, My Dear Cramer Anime Film Premieres In April

From the author of ‘Your Lie in April’, Naoshi Arakawa, another story is getting an anime adaptation. Titled ‘Farewell, My Dear Cramer’, the soccer manga will get both a TV anime and film. The film will actually be based on the prequel manga titled ‘Sayonara, Football’. It has received a new key visual, and the exact date of premiere is April 1, 2021. The new visual:

Both the TV anime and film will be handled by studio Liden Films [LIDENFILMS]. Aika Kobayashi will perform the theme songs. The film’s theme song is titled The Sky Doesn’t Belong to Anyone. The synopsis for the story by Kodansha:

With no soccer accomplishments to speak of during the entirety of Sumire Suo’s junior high school years, the young wing gets an odd offer. Suo’s main rival, Midori Soshizaki, invites her to join up on the same team in high school, with a promise that she’ll never let Suo “play alone.” It’s an earnest offer, but the question is whether Suo will take her up on it. Thus the curtain opens on a story that collects an enormous cast of individual soccer-playing personalities!

We all know what happened in ‘Your Lie in April’, so I wonder if ‘Farewell, My Dear Cramer’ will also be similar. Its first word is kind of saddening already, but can either read the manga to see or wait for the anime. Maybe it doesn’t go the same route.. The manga was serialized since May 2016 and ended 2 days ago on December 4th. It has 13 compilation volumes so far.
