Gundam Cucuruz Doan’s Island Film to Premiere in Summer 2022

The upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam Cucuruz Doan’s Island film has released its first teaser, as well as some new pieces of information. It will premiere in Summer 2022, and you can check out the visual:

Cucuruz Doan’s Island – Key Visual

Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, who also directed the 6-part OVA Gundam Origin and the Mobile Suit Gundam F91 movie, will be the director of the film, while Sunrise will be in charge of the production. The film will be based on the fifteenth episode of the first anime of the same title, and Sunrise said that the film will be a “new perspective” on the episode. The film was first announced during the 2nd Gundam Conference, which was held on September 15, 2021.

Gundam is a Japanese mix-media franchise that focuses on mecha robots, created by Sunrise and Yoshiyuki Tomino. The franchise officially premiered on April 7, 1979, with the Mobile Suit Gundam anime series. In addition to the popular anime series and spin-offs, the franchise also has manga, novels, video games, and toys.
