A second anime trailer for the Hololive Alternative Project, as well as a game trailer for the upcoming sandbox game Holoearth, have been revealed. The new project was first announced in a trailer in May 2021, with game announcements made in October 2021.
The new Hololive Alternative anime trailer features the track “story time” by the Star Flower unit, consisting of Hololive members Hoshimachi Suisei, AZKi, Moona Hoshinova, and IRyS. Takahiro Okawa directed the new trailer, and Yukei Yamada served as the chief animation director. Key animators involved in the project include Takahito Sakazume, Shun Enokido, Go Suzuki, Toru Iwazawa, Yomosaka, Kerorira, Ko Aine, Yudai Nagano, Yaegashi Yuhei, Kai Shibata, Kaito Tomioka, Mizuki Takahashi, Shu Sugita, and Kono Toshiya.
Ko Aine, Aoi Gogo, Satomi Torii, and Kenta Tsujimoto served as second key animators. Gogo also did the in-betweens checker for the trailer. In-between animations were made by Natsuko Harano, Aoi Gogo, Sota Watanabe, Aika Matsumoto, Akari Makura, and Kenta Tsujimoto from Snowdrop as well as Sasaki Hikaru and Miyauchi Yoshihiro from OLM Asia.
Holoearth’s new game trailer also features a playable character, as seen in the key visual. The avatar’s concept art was made by Masaru Sakamoto from Studio Trigger, who worked on titles such as SSSS.Gridman and SSSS.Dynazenon.
The sandbox game received its first gameplay teaser in November 2021. It featured an open-world environment, with mechanisms such as fighting monsters and building structures. As part of the new game update, Holoearth TV also premiered following the trailer releases to discuss the new updates. The cast for the livestream includes A-chan, Shirakami Fubuki, Shishiro Botan, and Omaru Polka.
Cover Corporation’s Hololive Alternative has also an ongoing manga series called Holoearth Chronicles Side:E Yamato Kasо Kaiitan. It is made by Goblin Slayer artist Kosuke Kurose, and started serialization on Square Enix’s Manga Up! Website.
