Kousuke Kurose’s Hololive Manga Begins Serialization

Goblin Slayer artist Kousuke Kurose’s manga dedicated to VTuber agency Hololive is getting a serialized release on Square Enix’s Manga Up! The manga is titled Holoearth Chronicles Side:E Yamato Kasоu Kaiitan, and is dedicated to the characters of Hololive Alternative, an online project by Hololive centered around virtual experiences.

The manga first debuted on Twitter as part of the initial content dedicated to Hololive’s project release. The story revolves around the talents of the VTuber agency depicted as characters in a fantasy world. Just like what Hololive Alternative suggests, the story is a fantasy-driven depiction of Hololive talents living in an “alternative world.”

In addition to the Japanese release, official English and Indonesian versions of the manga will be also made available on the Holonometria website, the project’s site that catalogs story parts such as locations, characters, and keywords featured on the project.

Kurose is known for his artwork in various manga such as Goblin Slayer and When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace. He also wrote and drew at the same time manga titles The iDOLM@STER Dearly Stars: Neue Green and Fate/stay Night: DNA Comic Manga Anthology.

Hololive Alternative was first teased to the public in May 2021 through a promotional video with the track Dawn Blue by Mori Calliope. In October 2021, Hololive announced new updates for the project, including an avatar creation system and a sandbox game. The first wave of game development was first teased to the public in November 2021.
