Natsuko Takahashi (Comic Girls) is the scriptwriter and Takahiro Sakai (Ms. Vampire Who Lives In My Neighborhood) is the character designer and chief animation director. Asuka Sakai is composing the music. The adaptation revealed a new key visual earlier this month:
The anime is based on Rasuko Okuma’s Hoshikuzu Telepath four-panel manga. The serialization started in 2019 in Manga Time Kirara magazine, first as a guest work with only two chapters. In the same year, a full serialization began and has since been collected into four volumes.
Hoshikuzu Telepath follows two high schoolers who struggle to fit in. Umika Konohoshi struggles when it comes to communicating with her peers and people in general, so much so that she sometimes feels like she doesn’t belong to this world and is perhaps an alien who does not belong on Earth and is trapped here while being forced to interact with others. One day, Umika meets a mysterious girl who claims that she is an alien! The two connect.
