Jujutsu Kaisen is the latest anime and manga franchise to collaborate with the popular Fortnite game. The sorcerers from the series will be dropping in v25.30 of the game. A trailer, featuring Gojo, Megumi, Yuji and Nobara, has been revealed:
The battle royale game has had collaborations with many major franchises, including, as previously mentioned, anime and manga series. Some of Fortnite’s recent tie-ins included Dragon Ball, Naruto, Attack on Titan, and even some maps based on Junji Ito’s stories.
Jujutsu Kaisen is based on a manga by Gege Akutami that is currently being serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The manga launched on March 5, 2018, and has since become one of the most popular shonen titles of today. Viz Media is publishing it in English. An anime adaptation by MAPPA is currently on its second season.
The plot of Jujutsu Kaisen follows Yuji Itadori who accidentally becomes a vessel of one of the most dangerous curses ever – Sukuna. Soon he finds out that there are people who fight curses and that they want to kill him to minimize the danger to society. However, he meets Satoru Gojo, one of the most powerful exorcists of modern times. Gojo offers him a way out by letting him study at Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College, where he’ll learn how to control his (and Sukuna’s) powers and be of use to exorcists, known as jujutsu sorcerers. But, something far more sinister is brewing and Yuji’s school days might be cut short…
