Kana Hanazawa Covers Bakemonogatari's Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari

Voice actress Kana Hanazawa is the latest in line of artists to cover a song on CrosSing’s YouTube channel, and in this case, the song was Bakemonogatari’s ending theme “Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari” originally performed by supercell.

Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari” came out in 2009 and was Supercell’s debut single. The original version of the song features vocals by Nagi Yanagi. The song was written and composed by Ryo, who also did the arrangement.

Kana Hanazawa is a Japanese voice actress and singer, who is well known among anime fans. She was born on February 25, 1989, in Tokyo. Her most prominent anime roles include Kaede Tachibana from the Angel Beats series, Nadeko Sengoku from Monogatari/Bakemonogatari franchise, Mayuri Shiina from Steins;Gate, Shiemi Moriyama from Blue Exorcist, Kuroneko from Oreimo (who later appeared in Eromanga Sensei), and Shiro from Deadman Wonderland. In the recent years, Kanazawa has voiced Mitsuri Kanroji from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba franchise (who will be the focus of the upcoming third season), Kuroe in Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story, and Mayumi Seagusa in The Irregular at Magic High School series, among others.

Her debut single “Hoshizora Destination” came out in 2010. Kanazawa is currently signed with Pony Canyon music label. Her fans know her as hanakawa. She often sings anime theme songs, often as the characters she voices. For example, she performed The Quintessential Quintuplets theme song as Ichika Nakano, whom she voiced both in the TV anime and the movie.
