KonoSuba Gets a Short Story Collection To Celebrate 10th Anniversary

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the light novels’ publication, KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! is receiving a brand-new collection of short stories written by the original author, Natsume Akatsuki, with illustrations from series illustrator Kurone Mishima.

Kadokawa has announced a September 29 release date (both physical and digital) for the KonoSuba short story collection, entitled Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! Yori Michi 3 Eme!, which translates to KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! For The Third Time!.

The collection of stories features Megumin growing a pair of devil horns, Darkness becoming a villainess, Wiz and Vanir having a business dispute, and Kazuma’s diary documenting his hectic life with Aqua and the gang (thanks to our very own Bushido Samurai for the assistance). An English translation has not been announced at this time.

The KonoSuba light novel series first started publishing in 2013, after Natsume Akatsuki serialized a draft web novel on the popular self-authoring website, Syosetu. The series ended in 2020 with 17 volumes and has since received multiple spin-offs and side stories, along with an anime adaptation.

Crunchyroll streams the KonoSuba TV anime and describes the plot as:

After a traffic accident, Kazuma Sato’s disappointingly brief life was supposed to be over, but he wakes up to see a beautiful girl before him. She claims to be a goddess, Aqua, and asks if he would like to go to another world and bring only one thing with him. Kazuma decides to bring the goddess herself, and they are transported to a fantasy world filled with adventure, ruled by a demon king. Now Kazuma only wants to live in peace, but Aqua wants to solve many of this world’s problems, and the demon king will only turn a blind eye for so long…

The third season of KonoSuba‘s TV anime will premiere in 2024.
