The animated music video for Kvi Baba’s “TOMBI” has been released. The song the opening theme song of the currently airing Trigun Stampede anime.
Takeru Shibuya from ODDJOB directed the music video, with assistance from Munehito Gunji, Ranpei Ueno, and Tokiya Yokozeki. Koichi Inaba from Toy’s Factory served as the executive producers.
Kvi Baba is an Osaka-based hip-hop artist, who started off his career with the release of his self-titled album Kvi Baba in 2019. He later went on to release extended playlist collections: 19 (2019), Happy Birthday to Me (2020), and Toge ni Bara (2021). “TOMBI” is his latest single release, which has now reached over 300,000 streams on Spotify. In a tweet, he thanked fans for listening to the song.
Trigun Stampede is based on the Trigun manga series by Yasuhiro Nightow, which was serialized on the Monthly Shonen Captain from April 1995 to January 1997, and then moved to Young King OURs, where it stayed from October 1997 to March 2007. The manga received an anime adaptation by Madhouse that is composed of twenty-six episodes, which aired from April to September 1998. It also received an anime film titled Trigun: Badlands Rumble in 2010.
Dark Horse has licensed the manga in English, describing the plot as:
