loundraw's Summer Ghost Anime Film Gets Full Trailer, Premieres in November

loundraw is a Japanese artist known for creating original character designs for Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song and anime film I want to eat your pancreas. He was also in charge of the concept design for the Josee, the Tiger and the Fish anime film. The Summer Ghost film will be loundraw’s directorial debut and it now has a full trailer. It features the voices of Nobunaga Shimazaki and Rina Kawaei for the first time, and will premiere in Japan on November 12, 2021. Watch the new trailer:

Cast & Staff

Chiaki Kobayashi voices the main protagonist Tomoya Sugisaki, a third-year student with good grades whose passion for drawing is making him hesitate about going to college. Nobunaga Shimazaki voices Ryou Kobayashi, a popular third-year student who plays basketball, but is facing an illness he hasn’t told anyone about. Miyuri Shimabukuro voices Aoi Harukawa, a 2nd year student who’s struggling with bullying. Finally, Rina Kawaei voices the ‘summer ghost’ Ayane Satou.

Flat Studio, the studio founded by Ioundraw himself, is producing the film with loundraw as the director and character designer. Hirotaka Adachi is in charge of the script, while the acclaimed international pianist Akira Kosemura is in charge of the music. Avex Pictures is distributing the film with Flagship Line producing and planning the project.

Synopsis

Tomoya, Aoi, and Ryo are high school students who met each other through the Internet. There is an urban legend about a young female ghost known as the “Summer Ghost. It is said to be the ghost of a young woman who appears when fireworks are lit.

Tomoya is unable to step out into the life he wants. Aoi can’t find her place in the world, while Ryo, whose shining future is suddenly closed off. All of them have their own reasons for meeting the Summer Ghosts.

On a summer night when life and death intersect, what is the destination of each of their thoughts?

The trailer for Summer Ghost is beautiful, although the short film is sure to hit us with some emotions. Avex might have some information about the international release soon as well!
