McDonald’s Japan has announced a special collaboration campaign with ONE PIECE, and they’ve released some interesting videos and a visual ahead of its April 19 start date. They invite fans to find the Tatsuta of the year, and you can watch the trailer featuring Gol D. Roger and the Straw Hats below:
Chicken tatsuta is a Japanese-style fried chicken burger, which is sold and trademarked by McDonald’s Japan. The way of cooking using deep frying can also be referred to as Tatsuta-age. After marinating meat or fish, the meat is sprinkled with Japanese katakuri-ko or corn starch before frying. Check out another short ad, featuring Sanji and Zeff:
They describe the campaign as a parody to Roger’s iconic speech:
Wealth, fame, tatsuta. The man who has it all, the pirate king Gold Roger.
The Tatsuta of the year? Find it! I found it at McDonald’s!
This year, “Yuzu-scented grated chicken tatsuta” will also be available for a limited time from 4/19 (Wed.)!
The world is truly in the age of Chicken Tatsuta!
There is also a special visual used to promote the collaboration, which you can check out below:
Episode 1058 of the ONE PIECE anime will release next Sunday on April 16, while the ONE PIECE manga will take a break and release chapter 1081 on April 23. You can watch the anime on Crunchyroll, while you can catch up to the latest manga chapter for free on either the VIZ website or the MANGA Plus website.
