Mission: Yozakura Family is getting an anime adaptation, as announced earlier during the Jump Festa ’23 panel dedicated to the series. The release date has been set for 2024. Silver Link is animating.
Katsuyuki Konishi, who voiced Kyoichiro Yozakura in the voice drama adaptation, attended the stage along with the manga editor. The panel was dedicated to the second anniversary of the voice drama.
The manga is being serialized digitally on Shueisha’s Manga Plus service, as a simulpub. Chapters 1-6 and the latest six chapters are available at all times on the website, but to read the ones in between users have to download the Manga Plus by Shueisha mobile app. The manga received an animated promotional video in May of this year:
Mission: Yozakura Family (Yozakura-san Chi no Daisakusen) is a rom-com series, with thriller undertones and spy elements. It follows the Yozakura family, who possess superpowers that are fully awakened once they “bloom.” The manga has been serialized since 2019 in the Weekly Shonen Jump. Currently, there are 15 volumes out. Viz Media describes the plot as:
Taiyo Asano is a super-shy high school student and the only person he can talk to is his childhood friend Mutsumi Yozakura. However, Mutsumi comes from a line of master spies with amazing powers. Her oldest brother, Kyoichiro, is obsessed with Mutsumi and out to kill anyone who gets remotely near her—and his next target is Taiyo! The only way for Taiyo to save himself from Kyoichiro’s murderous clutches is to marry Mutsumi!
