The My Clueless First Friend TV anime released on Tuesday a new key visual along with a 15-second commercial, information on three additional cast members, the ending theme song, and an April 9 premiere date of the first episode. Voice actors Wakana Maruoka, Kohei Amasaki, and Jun Fukuyama are joining the anime as Sumire, Kotaro, and Akane’s Father respectively. The musical duo Kitri (Komi Can’t Communicate ED) is singing the ending theme song titled “Kokorone.” ABEMA will stream the anime a week in advance beginning on April 2.
The anime adaptation of the series was announced in November 2022 and a trailer was revealed last month. Studio Signpost is animating the anime based on the manga of the same title by Taku Kawamura. Shigenori Kageyama is directing with Takafumi Hoshikawa and Shogo Yasukawa writing the script. Chikashi Kadekaru is illustrating character designs, and Toshio Masuda is composing the music. The main cast includes Konomi Kohara as Akane Nishimura and Shizuka Ishigami as Taiyou Takada.
Square Enix’s shonen manga magazine Monthly Gangan Joker is serializing the manga of My Clueless First Friend since May 2018 while Square Enix Manga & Books is publishing the manga in English and they describe the first volume as:
