Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds Launches Worldwide

Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds is now available worldwide and is free to download on Android, iOS, and Windows (BETA). The open-world RPG was developed by Netmarble and published by Level-5. It also features animation from Studio Ghibli, as well as music by Joe Hisaishi, who is well known for his work on Ghibli movies. It is the latest installment in the Ni no Kuni mobile game series, following Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom (2018) and Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (2011).

Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds was originally released in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan in June 2021, while the English version launched on May 25, 2022. The official website describes the story:

You are about to enter a brand new world in the virtual reality game Soul Divers. But as you explore and become stronger, you’ll realize this world is not a virtual one. A mysterious girl named Rania entrusts you with a mission: Rebuild your kingdom ransacked by powerful foes and save the two connected worlds from certain destruction!

Aside from its notable animation and music, the game is also rendered in the Unreal 4 Engine, making it known for the incredible graphics and adventure experience. Other in-game experiences include meeting creatures, decorating your own farm, and playing with friends.

Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds players can also choose and customize their characters. As of writing, the English cast has not yet been revealed. The characters, as well as their respective Japanese voice actors, include:

  • Mysterious fencer “Swordsman” (Hiroshi Kamiya)
  • Magic spear-wielding “Witch” (Kana Hanazawa)
  • Genius gunner “Engineer” (Aoi Yuki)
  • Mischievous archer “Rogue” (Maya Uchida)
  • Brawny hammer-swinging “Destroyer” (Akio Otsuka)

Ni no Kuni is a series of role-playing video games developed by Level-5. Studio Ghibli provides their animated sequences. An animated film of the same name was also adapted in 2019 by OLM, Inc.
