After suffering multiple episode delays, including the most recent delay that pushed the ninth episode back indefinitely, the NieR: Automata Ver1.1a anime has announced that it will air the final four episodes back-to-back on July 23. Studio A-1 Pictures has apologized for the disruption, amid a season of repeated anime delays from a myriad of studios.
The NieR: Automata Ver1.1a anime is based on the action role-playing game of the same name developed by Platinum Games and released by Square Enix in 2017. NieR: Automata is itself a multimedia project encompassing the original video game, the NieR:Automata Ver1.1a anime, and the associated manga YoRHa Pearl Harbor Descent Record illustrated by Megumu Soramichi. The media franchise forms part of Yoko Taro’s Drakengard world, most recently receiving a remaster of the original 2010 Nier game in the form of Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139….

The distant future, 5012. The sudden aerial invasion of Earth by <Aliens> and their creations <Machine Lifeforms> led mankind to the brink of extinction. However, the war reaches a stalemate as the <Machine Lifeforms> continue to multiply infinitely. In turn, humanity deploys a new unit of android soldiers as an ultimate weapon: YoRHa.
