Never shying away from adding more talents into their fold 65 days after Luxiem has debuted, Nijisanji EN reveals its second male VTuber group, Noctyx. The addition of Noctyx makes Nijisanji EN 20 talents strong. A teaser for the new group is posted on YouTube February 22:
Unlike Luxiem who stumbled upon the present and are learning their surroundings, the personalities of Noctyx have different stories and are traveling through time in search of a way to redeem themselves, reclaim their past and get another shot at a brighter future.
Noctyx is poised to complement Luxiem with their parallel roles: Officer Sonny Brisko, Phantom Thief Alban Knox, DJ Yugo Asuma, Psychic Uki Violeta and Cyborg Fulgur Ovid.
Officer Sonny Brisko has a straightforward attitude, but is reliable in a pinch. Recent interactions on Twitter include him asking Mysta Rias to call him dad, as well as asking the audience if they want to see Luca Kaneshiro with handcuffs on.
Phantom Thief Alban Knox is a free-spirited but mischievous personality. Due to his appearance, the audience is asking him to meow. He then distanced himself further from Mysta by telling Twitter that he washes his rice before cooking, prompting Vox Akuma to say thanks.
DJ Yugo Asuma has the voice and beats to put his listeners in trance. As of this writing, he is the only one in Noctyx who has yet to set up his YouTube and Twitter banners. Even so, he is well-regarded for his respect in recognizing his brothers, as well as birthday celebrant Professor Oliver Evans from the domestic Nijisanji Japan group.
Psychic Uki Violeta, as his namesake says, appears with a mix of violet with a dash of purple. He does appear shy, but don’t let this one fool you, as strange things follow him and his enigmatic powers. Fans have gathered to share their art of this wild guy on Twitter.
Cyborg Fulgur Ovid, with his half-metal parts, has unparalleled strength—but he’s resonating with the crowd already once he said “Do you hear me?” He is revealed to have followed the official Barbie account on Twitter, to which he says to the tune of Aqua’s Barbie Girl: “She is plastic. It’s fantastic.”
Stuck in the Abyss is the group’s debut song, adding more prose to the already-quotable song titles given to Nijisanji EN. As with tradition, Noctyx’s debut song will premiere after their debut relay on the last weekend of February. Music artist and producer MATZ from Sapporo produced the music and lyrics together with hip-hop artist BBY NABE. Aside from being the first Japanese artist to release remixes on overseas labels such as the UK and Italy, MATZ also worked for Kizuna Ai and content provider ATEAM.
Noctyx will have its debut stream on YouTube in the following dates and times:
Reimu Endou of Ethyria and Ike Eveland of Luxiem will host the program.
Nijisanji EN’s Noctyx is part of ANYCOLOR Inc., an entertainment company established in May 2017. Nijisanji’s official website provides more information on the Virtual YouTuber program, which also includes the domestic group based in Japan as well as the VirtuaReal joint venture with media platform Bilibili in China.
