About No Game No Life

No Game No Life is originally a light novel series by Yuu Kamiya. It started back on April 25, 2012, and is still ongoing. It also has a manga adaptation which started in 2013, though it only has 2 volumes so far. The thing most people know about though, is the anime adaptation by Madhouse. It ran from April 9 to June 24 of 2014, and it garnered a pretty big fandom at the time. However, it sadly never got a season 2.

The story follows two genius siblings Shiro and Sora. They get to another world, and games solve everything there. It’s not that simple though, and the official synopsis goes:

An urban legend states that those exceptionally gifted at gaming will be sent a special game invitation, and the winners of the challenge will be whisked away to another world. When Sora and Shiro, two hikikomori NEETs who happen to be both siblings and notorious gamers, receive this invitation, they defeat it with ease. And like the legends tell, they’re transported to another world where conflicts, peoples’ lives and even country borders are decided by competitions and games.

Always up for a challenge, the pair quickly take on the obstacles that come their way, whether it be restoring lowly humanity’s good name compared with the other races or helping influence who will become the next king.

The anime recently got a rebroadcast in Japan, and the series surpassed over 6 million copies in circulation. Let’s see if this is marking some kind of a return, and if volume 11 helps No Game No Life get back properly!
