On June 18, 2021, a new official website and Twitter account announced the news of “Ouran High School Host Club’s” first-ever stage musical adaption. Along with this, it also reveals the cast, staff, visuals, and a promotional video. The stage play will be opening on January 2022 in Tokyo and Osaka. Further details such as schedules and tickets will be announced on a later date.

The official website of Ouran Highschool Host Club Musical Play introduces the actors as well as their respective character visuals.
The cast includes:
Junya Komatsu as Tamaki Suou
Masamichi Satonaka as Kyoya Ootori
Yū Futaba as Hikaru Hitachiin,
Kaname Futaba as Kaoru Hitachiin
Eito Konishi as Mitsukuni Haninozuka
Shō Katō as Takashi Morinozuka
According to the website, Chobi Natsuki will be directing the musical. Muck Akazawa will write the script while Yu (vague) will be in charge of the music. The “Ouran High School Host Club” Production Committee will be responsible for organizing the stage musical.
Aside from the stage musical and cast announcement, the website also includes Bisco Hatori’s thoughts for the play. The manga author comments about how she loves plays and musicals. The news for an “Ouran High School Host Club” stage musical is like a dream for her. Finally, she says that she is very happy and grateful for all the support for Ouran High School Host Club.
“Ouran High School Host Club” is a Japanese manga series by Bisco Hatori. It was serialized in Hakusensha’s Lala magazine from September 2002 to November 2010. The manga also an audio drama and animated television series adaption (Studio BONES). It also has a television dorama and a live-action film adaptation. Lastly, it has a visual novel by Idea Factory.
The story follows Haruhi, a scholarship student at exclusive Ouran High School, who breaks an $80,000 vase. It coincidentally belongs to the “Host Club,” a mysterious group consisting of six super-rich and handsome guys. To pay back the damages, Haruhi has to work for the club. From there, she eventually discovers just how wealthy the boys are and how different they are from everybody else.
