Japanese mangaka Bkub Okawa debuted his VTuber model on June 21. According to his debut stream, his character is depicted as a middle-aged boy rendition of his original character named Miyakko.
Okawa joins a growing number of mangakas who have already debuted their VTuber models, such as the Goblin Slayer author Kousuke Kurose, Norio Tsukudani (Himegoto), and Konbu Wakame (Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai). Okawa had already maintained his existing YouTube channel by uploading gameplay streams.

Some of the manga works that Okawa was involved with include Made in Abyss: Koushiki Anthology (2016), Fate/Grand Order Anthology Comic: Star (2017), Hoshi-iro Girldrop: Comic Anthology (2018), among others.
He is most known as the author of the Pop Team Epic manga series, which started serialization on Takeshobo’s Manga Life Win website in August 2014. It also got an anime adaptation animated by Kamikaze Douga, which aired from January to March 2018. A second season is set to air this October 2022.
Kodansha USA has licensed the manga series in English, describing it as follows:
The bizarre four-panel comic by Bkub Okawa, on which the hit anime is based, is filled with obscure pop culture references (including walk-ons by characters from other series) and tongue-in-cheek—and in-your-face—quips and snipes, as well as inappropriate physical violence. Pop Team Epic will keep you laughing, confused, and addicted!
