The Quintessential Quintuplets movie premiered in Japan on May 20 and to celebrate the big day a special wedding-themed visual (above) was published. Bibury Animation Studios is animating the movie, which serves as the finale of the series.
In addition to the wedding visual, The Quintessential Quintuplets also revealed a cover for the special epilogue manga chapter, that will be available to the moviegoers. The cover is the announcement visual for the movie and the bonus story is actually Volume 14.5 and serves as an epilogue,
The Quintessential Quintuplets movie recently revealed the main trailer. The TV anime cast is reprising their roles:
Masato Jinbo is directing the movie, with Masato Katsumata as the character designer. Keichiro Ochi is writing the script, while Miki Sakurai and Hanae Nakamura compose the music. The movie is part of the franchise which started with Negi Haruba’s manga.
Kodansha licensed the manga in English, and describes the plot of the 11th volume (that the movie begins with) as:
While on a school trip to Kyoto, the sisters’ relationships nearly go south as they vie for Futaro’s affection, but they weather the storm, come out stronger for it, and enjoy the trip in the end. During the chaos, it also comes to light that Yotsuba was the girl Futaro met on that prior field trip six years earlier … The quintuplets’ past will now be revealed!!
The first season of the anime adaptation aired in 2019 and was animated by Tezuka Productions. Bibury Animation Studios took over for the 2nd season, which premiered in 2021.
