Rent a Girlfriend Season 2 revealed a new key visual that features all of the girls – Ruka Sarashina, Sumi Sakurasawa, Mami Nanami, and Chizuru Mizuhara. The sequel will begin airing on July 1 and it will feature a returning cast. TMS Entertainment is animating once again.
Last week, the main trailer for the second season was revealed, along with theme songs. The opening theme song is by CHiCO with HoneyWorks, and is titled “Himitsu Koigokoro“, while the ending theme is by MIMiNARI and asmi who are performing “Ienai“.
Kazuomi Koga is directing season 2 of Rent-a-Girlfriend anime, with Kanna Hirayama on character designs. Hyadain is composing the music. TMS Entertainment also animated the first season of the anime adaptation, which had 12 episodes and aired in the summer of 2020.
The story is based on a manga by Reiji Miyajima. Kodansha publishes the manga in English and describes the plot as:

After a staggering betrayal by his girlfriend, hapless freshman Kazuya gets just desperate enough to give it a try.
