The official Twitter account of Requiem of the Rose King anime revealed on October 24 the opening and ending theme songs and their singers for Season 1. The upcoming anime will start in January 2022 with two consecutive seasons.
The opening theme song will be Ware Bara ni Insu, which literally means “I Indulge Myself in Roses”. Voice actor Furukawa Makoto (Saitama, Shirogane Miyuki, Benimaru) performs the song. Meanwhile the ending theme song is titled Akumu, which translates into “Nightmare”. The singer will be ZAQ, who has played many anime songs such as Sparkling Daydream (Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions).
Both of them will release their CD packages on the same day, February 16, 2022.
Kannno Aya’s Requiem of the Rose King first launched in monthly manga magazine Princess in 2013. It marked its 8th anniversary in the November 2021 issue, released on October 6. The manga has 15 volumes as of March 16, 2021, and it will will end in 4 chapters.
The official English publisher for the series, Viz Media describes the plot of Volume 1 as:
Richard’s father, the patriarch of the House of York, is poised to become king of medieval England during the bloody Wars of the Roses. But just as success is imminent, he is abruptly cut down. Plunged into despair, Richard acts out in revenge and must face a powerful and beautiful new enemy.
