Sasaki and Miyano Confirms New Anime Project in the Works

A new anime project for Sasaki and Miyano series is in the works, Kadokawa confirmed earlier with an announcement visual (above). The first season of the anime started airing in January and ended today after 12 episodes.

The official Japanese Twitter account or the anime also tweeted about the announcement, stating that “Sasaki and Miyano’s youth will continue”:

Studio DEEN animated the first season, which was directed by Shinji Ishihira. Yoshiko Nakamura was in charge of series composition, while Maki Fuji designed the characters. Kana Shibue composed the music. Watch the trailer for the first season:

The main cast for the Sasaki and Miyano anime includes:

  • Soma Saito as Yoshikazu Miyano
  • Yusuke Shirai as Shumei Sasaki
  • Yuma Uchida as Masato Hanazawa
  • Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Taiga Hirano
  • Ryohei Arai as Tasuku Kuresawa
  • Nobunaga Shimazaki as Akira Kagiura
  • Mitsuhiro Ichiki as Gonzaburo Tashiro

The anime is based on a manga by Shou Harusono. The manga has been serialized on pixiv Comic platform. Media Factory publishes it in volume format. Yen Press is publishing the manga in English and describes the plot as:
It all started like a typical old-school boys’ love plotline—bad-boy senior meets adorably awkward underclassman, one of them falls in love, and so on and so forth. But although Miyano is a self-proclaimed boys’ love expert, he hasn’t quite realized…he’s in one himself. Which means it’s up to Sasaki to make sure their story has a happily ever after…!

A spin-off manga titled Hirano to Kagiura (Hirano and Kagiura) by the same author is currently ongoing in Media Factory’s Monthly Comic Gene magazine.
