The previously announced Seiyuu Radio no Uraomote anime has revealed a teaser visual along with staff information and a 2024 premiere date. Studio CONNECT is animating with Hideki Tachibana as director. Keiichiro Uchi is writing the scripts and Shoko Takimoto is doing the character designs. Voice actors Moe Toyota and Miku Ito are reprising their roles as Chika Watanabe (Yuhi Yugure) and Yumiko Sato (Yasumi Utatane) respectively as the two previously voiced the characters in the trailer for the light novel.
The anime is based on the light novel series written by Ko Nigatsu and illustrated by Saba Mizorure. The series began publication in February 2020 by ASCII Media Works under their Dengeki Bunko publishing imprint. The title won the Grand Prize in the 26th Dengeki Novel Prize back in 2019. A manga adaptation by Umemi Makimoto was started in 2020 with 3 volumes in total.
Seiyuu Radio no Uraomote TV anime will follow the story of Yuuhi Yuugure and Yasumi Utatane, two high school voice actresses who happened to be in the same class. Both are hosts of a weekly radio program. As fellow classmates and voice actresses, they show all the listeners their great friendship! At least, on the surface. In reality, the quiet girl Chika and the gyaru Yumiko are complete opposites and they absolutely cannot stand each other. Off air, chaos and insults erupt. On air, they’re the best of friends. Just where will this tumultuous relationship lead them?
