It has been officially confirmed that Keigo Maki’s “Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie” manga series will be adapted into a TV anime. It was announced on the official Twitter account for Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket, and more details for the romantic comedy franchise will come shortly. The announcement video:
In addition, the studio behind the anime will be Doga Kobo. The video above was used as a manga promotion, and it’s unclear whether the voice actors will be returning to the anime. Would definitely be nice to hear Saori Hayami again!
The official accounts started a Twitter campaign for the anime, and the hashtag #式守さんアニメ化 is trending on the platform.
The synopsis of the rom com goes:
Shikimori seems like the perfect girlfriend: cute, fun to be around, sweet when she wants to be… but she has a cool dark side that comes out under the right circumstances. And her boyfriend Izumi loves to be around when that happens! A fun and funny high school romance with a sassy twist perfect for fans of Nagatoro-san and Komi Can’t Communicate!
