The upcoming Shin Ikki Tousen anime has received a new trailer along with a new key visual. The anime will premiere on May 17, 2022. Rion Kujo (Rogue Hero) is directing the anime while studio Arms (Elfen Lied) is animating it.

The video features the anime’s theme song, “PROUD STARS”, which was performed by Konomi Suzuki. The cast of the series includes Ayaka Ohashi (Chubo Sonken), Atsumi Tanezaki (Asaemon Yamada), Masumi Asano (Hakufu Sonsaku), Yuko Kaida (Shimei Ryomou), Hitomi Nabatame (Uncho Kan’u), Yuu Asakawa (Shiryu Cho’un).

Episode 1 will air on May 17 while the 2nd episode will air on May 24, and episode 3 will air on May 31. The 1st episode will also have an advanced screening on March 27, 2022.
Shin Ikki Tousen is the fifth anime installment in the Ikki Tousen franchise. Takashi Watanabe directed the first anime of the franchise titled Ikki Tousen: Battle Vixens, which aired in 2003 (it had a total of 13 episodes). The second one, titled Ikki Tousen: Dragon Destiny, was directed by Koichi Ohata and aired in 2007 with a total of 12 episodes. The third installment, Ikki Tousen: Great Guardians, had the same director and premiered in 2008 (it also had 12 episodes). The fourth installment, with a total of 12 episodes, aired in 2010 and was titled, Ikki Tousen: Xtreme Xecutor. Studio Arms animated all of the Ikki Tousen seasons.

Shin Ikki Tousen is a Japanese manga series by Yuji Shiozaki. It is a spin-off manga series of the original Ikki Tousen, which was also written by the same author. Shōnen Gahōsha has been publishing is on Young King OURs magazine since 2015, and it currently has 4 volumes available.
