Metallic Rouge, a new original anime by Studio Bones set to premiere in January 2024, revealed a special music clip. The special music clip features “Crimson Lightning” composed by award-winning music composer Taisei Iwasaki, known for his soundtrack work in Belle and Studio Ghibli’s A Giant Warrior Descends on Tokyo. The Metallic Rouge original anime will be broadcast on Fuji TV and Crunchyroll starting next year.
Motonobu Hori is directing the original anime, with Yutaka Izubuchi in charge of series composition and supervision. Toshihiro Kawamoto is doing the character designs. The anime, which was screened exclusively at this year’s Anime NYC, marks studio Bones’ 25th anniversary.
10GAUGE handled the clip production, while BONES was in charge of the animation production. BONES is a studio with numerous anime hits that many people have loved over the years such as Bungo Stray Dogs, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, The Case Study of Vanitas, Mob Psycho 100, My Hero Academia, and more. The staff working on the anime includes Motonobu Hori as the director, Yutaka Izubuchi and Toshizo Nemoto for the series composition, Toshihiro Kawamoto as the character designer, and Takuya Ebisawa as the art director.
The official website of the Metallic Rouge original anime describes it as a sci-fi series where humans and androids coexist. Yume Miyamoto will be voicing the main character Rouge Redstar, while Tomoyo Kurosawa will voice Rogue’s friend Naomi Ortmann. The plot of Metallic Rouge is described as:
An android girl named Rouge is on a mission together with her partner Naomi on Mars. They are tasked to take down nine artificial humans who are hostile to the government. This is where the story of the android girl Rogue begins.
