Summer 2021 Anime of the Season - Rankings

Anime Corner conducted weekly surveys for the Summer 2021 anime season from July 02, 2021 to October 01, 2021. We had 32,716 people participate in our surveys throughout the season, and our results are based on the total data that we gathered this season.

This season, we held weekly polls from Week 1 to Week 12, followed by a season-ending poll called “Anime of the Season” from September 24 to October 1, 2021.

In the score ranking, data from our final poll received 55% of the weight, while data from our weekly polls received the remaining 45%. The 45 percent weight is distributed using various methods over the course of twelve weeks, resulting in multiple data sets that are then averaged.

It’s a weighted ranking, and we chose this method to produce a more balanced result.

To ensure data integrity, we have done our best to eliminate spam and data duplication by recording each user’s IP address and allowing only one vote per option for a specific poll via that address.

To put it another way, if you try to re-vote for a poll option while browsing incognito, your vote will be discarded. If you haven’t already, you can always go back and vote in a poll as long as it’s open.

Summer 2021 Ranking Results

Before we continue, we’d like to point out that certain shows, such as “My Hero Academia Season 5,” were included in our weekly polls for data representation purposes only and were excluded from our calculations for the “Summer 2021 Anime of the Season” rankings because they debuted in the previous season and aired without seasonal gaps.

Furthermore, the rankings below should not be used to influence your decision to watch shows ranked lower than the Top 10, because each show has its own distinct style, and everyone’s taste in anime is different. This season was full of surprises and incredible shows that we will undoubtedly miss.

Summer 2021 Anime Rankings – Anime Corner Polls

Congratulations to “Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S” for winning first place and becoming the season’s fan favorite! In addition, we’d like to congratulate “Girlfriend, Girlfriend” on being named runner-up and the season’s top non-sequel anime.

We thank everyone who participated in our polls and provided feedback.

Summer 2021 Participant Statistics

As mentioned previously, we gathered data from 32,716 people via our weekly polls this season. We use the term “people” to refer to the unique IP addresses that were logged during the poll’s submission. We’ve made every effort to eliminate spam, avoid duplication, and maintain the integrity of our data. This season, our database contains more than 250,000 votes/entries. In simple terms, it is the total of all votes received during this season’s weekly polls. For the curious, there are 61,019 unique votes, which is the total of one vote per show per user throughout the season. For instance, if you voted for “Spirit Chronicles” and “Love Live” in each of our weekly polls, your vote counts as two distinct votes, as you chose only two shows.

You’ll find demographic data about our voters below. On some devices, the visual charts below may appear as a table.

Age Distribution

The bar chart below depicts the age distribution of our voters. Because the age option on our polls site is set to “13” by default, we’ve listed it as “Unknown” because we’re not sure if a person is actually under 13 or if they simply did not adjust it manually.

Gender Distribution

The pie chart below depicts the gender group chosen by voters at the time the poll was submitted.

Similarly, a geographical chart is provided below to show how many people from each continent were included in our data calculation.

We’d like to thank everyone who voted in our polls once again. We look forward to receiving your responses in upcoming surveys.

If you missed our weekly or seasonal polls in Summer 2021, fear not; we are currently conducting a survey of our fans’ favorite shows for the first week of the Fall 2021 anime season. We’d love for you to share your interests with us at polls.animecorner.me.
