Summer Time Rendering anime revealed a preview for the upcoming episode 8 of the series. The episode will air on Thursday, June 2 in Japan, with Disney+ exclusively streaming it. The anime still hasn’t had its North America/Europe premiere, although the seventh episode premiered last week.
The official website describes the plot of the upcoming episode as:
Shinpei returns to the Kofune family as Hizuru and Nezu watch over him to defeat Mio’s shadow, which appeared in the first round. However, Ushio, who was not “supposed to be there” yet, appears. Ushio, like Shinpei, had looped back from the summer festival on the 24th.
Surprised by the sudden events, Shinpei tries to sort out the situation but is suddenly and unexpectedly attacked by Mio’s shadow. Shinpei avoids death with the help of Ushio, but Ushio’s arm is cut open instead.

Summer Time Rendering is based on sci-fi, suspense-mystery manga by Yasuki Tanaka. Shounen Jump+ online magazine serialized it from 2017 to 2021. The anime will have 25 episodes, split into two cours. Studio OLM is animating the adaptation, under Ayumu Watanabe’s direction.
