Sword Art Online Celebrates Game's Launch on November 6, 2022 With an Opening Video

Sword Art Online: Full Dive event has released an opening video to celebrate the game’s launch on November 6, 2022. In the original anime and light novel series, the survival death game called Sword Art Online opened its servers on November 6, 2022. You can watch the new video below:

Kayaba Akihiko (C.V Koichi Yamadera) and Rinko Kojiro (C.V. Sanae Kobayashi) are the ones talking in the video. Kayaba is talking about his dream, the floating castle players can only reach by climbing 99 stairs. This specific dream is also the reason why he created the Aincrad, which he explains in episode 14 of the Sword Art Online series.

Studio Gram worked on the video’s animation, while A-1 Pictures was in charge of the production. Sword Art Online: Full Dive is the main event of the franchise’s 10th-anniversary celebration, which is happening today. The guests at the event feature the cast from the anime, including Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Kirito), Haruka Tomatsu (Asuna), Miyuki Sawahiro (Sinon), Rina Hidaka (Silica), and more. Some of the anime theme song performers such as ReoNa, Eir Aoi, ASCA, are also attending.

The Sword Art Online franchise marked its 10th anniversary on July 8, 2022. It had multiple seasons over the past 10 years and 4 movies. Tomohiko Ito directed seasons 1 and 2, as well as the movies Sword Art Online: Extra Edition and Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale. The whole Alicization arc was directed by Manabu Ono, while the Progressive movies are currently being directed by Ayako Kono. Studio A-1 Pictures animated all of it.

The anime is based on Reki Kawahara’s Sword Art Online light novel series. ASCII Media Works has been publishing it with abec’s illustrations since 2009, and it currently has 27 volumes with more than 30 million copies available. The same publisher is serializing a spin-off light novel titled Sword Art Online: Progressive, which revolves around the events in Aincrad that were not shown in the original light novel series because of the time skip. The novel has 8 volumes in circulation as we speak. Yen Press is publishing the original Sword Art Online light novel series in English:
