“takt op. Destiny” episode 3 continues right where we left off last week when the D2 attacked the piano performance. In this episode, as the plot develops, we discover more mysteries than answers. There was one crucial question that we all wondered and even dreaded about — what happened to Cosette?
The first few minutes are full of hype. The animation is beautiful and crisp as always. I could just cry at how they make these action scenes so good! After the battle, we meet the Conductor-Musicart duo, Lenny and Titan. I honestly think their character designs and personalities are interestingly quirky. Plus, that ara-ara? That sold me. I like their vibe! Anyway, they explain Cosette’s unique situation to Takt and Anna. Did Cosette really … die? Yes and no. She suffered from the attack and then transformed into a new personality — Destiny. According to Lenny, Cosette is gone. ( Dun-Dun-Dun-Dunn!)
It’s heartbreaking to see Cosette go from this cheerful and music-loving girl to a robotic killing machine. I mean, her personality was so colorful, wholesome, and her smile is hands down, precious. I also feel sad because last week, Takt was finally able to connect and come out of his dark place. It’s painful to think how after a short moment of happiness, Cosette is immediately taken away from him.
In addition to the feels, Anna is still hoping for Cosette to come back. Her story with the Tarte Tatin was bittersweet. Towards the end, we get to see them again in action. Destiny’s terrible aimed shots were frustratingly funny, but Titan on the other hand was amazing to watch. Her fighting style is so fun. I’m curious now as to how the other Musicarts are like.
It’s obvious by now that Destiny’s broken transformation and Takt’s disappearing arm is a unique occurrence. Her destructive power is also draining Takt’s life force. Thus, the road trip to New York begins! First stop, Las Vegas. We will also get to discover more about Conductors since Lenny and Titan will be going with them.
All in all, “takt op. Destiny” 3 is another smooth episode. The action scenes were stunning. Plus, we got a few things clarified too. The story is starting to roll out, after all. For example, there were some interesting conspiracies and mysteries teased. If the festival was supposed to be safe, why did the D2 attack? Was it an intentional human attack? What are the theories that Lenny mentioned? Does it have a connection to Conductor Asahina and Symphonia? Why are Cosette/Destiny and Takt in the middle of this all? I don’t need sleep, I need answers!
With that said, I’m excited for next week again. It makes me happy to watch the opening theme too, which also reached 1 million views on YouTube. It’s a constant reminder of the smile we must protect. Check out LAM’s illustration of Titan as a celebration for this week’s episode on Twitter:
